About

Malcolm Parson's new record Letters From Home was inspired by using music as daily journal entries reflecting on his past. Composing and recording each part himself, Letters From Home was created through the act of recording daily spontaneous ideas at his studio. These improvisational sessions were then sculpted, refined, and fleshed out over the course of a few months. By using violin, cello, synths, piano, and some occasional guitar accents he created a project embedded with warmth, density, and lush textures. He hopes the collection will create for others the feeling of nostalgia he experienced while revisiting his past and birthplace - the city of New Orleans - to which he has returned after leaving for approximately 20 years. The record is paired with artwork by Dora Lazarevic incorporating photos from Parson's childhood, and was mastered by Martyn Heyne at Licthe Studio in Berlin.
