We are thrilled to release the second installment of Landbrot, the introspective and personal collection of instrumental pieces by Icelandic composer and producer Snorri Hallgrímsson. Landbrot II arrives in digital format and is accompanied by a special edition vinyl pressing of the project's two halves. The collection takes its name from the location of Hallgrímsson's family cabin in rural Iceland, which he describes as his ‘happy place’. Landbrot translates to erosion or ‘land fractures’, and from this we can imagine the search for inner calm & acceptance amongst the many obstacles of daily life. The record is tastefully mastered by Martyn Heyne at Lichte Studio in Berlin and paired with artwork by US based visual artist Leigh Wells.
Surely one of music's best-kept secrets, Icelandic composer and producer Snorri Hallgrímsson boasts an impressive list of credits both as a solo artist and as a collaborator on a wide variety of projects, including 'The Chopind Project', 'Island Songs', and the BAFTA-award winning score for 'Broadchurch' alongside Ólafur Arnalds.
